What is yoga?
Yoga has been practiced since the beginning of humanity in the motherlands of africa, but was first recorded 4000 years ago in india. The word, yog, means to unify or to join.
Yoga is much more than the asanas also known as the physical practice that is seen throughout the west. The practice and art of yoga is unifying the body, soul, and mind in order to fulfill peace within self and the world that we grace.

What is the best style for me?
There are hundreds of styles of yoga around the world today. Xude offers yin, hatha, and meditations with sessions that gives you the ability to customize and design the flow for your liking. What do I need to begin?
All you need is you and only you!
You don’t have to go out and buy fancy clothes, props, or even a yoga mat to begin your practice. As long as you have a comfortable space and an open heart and mind you are good to go!
I’m not flexible, can I practice yoga?
This is a common fear embedded in many seeking yoga. People begin practicing yoga in order to improve their flexibility! It takes time, consistency, and persistence to increase flexibility. Xude yoga creates a non-judgemental space for you to work on all that is needed for you you achieve your goals. As your yoga practice deepens, so will your flexibility.
Is yoga painful?
Yoga may bring mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual discomfort to the surface as you approach your threshold, but yoga should not be painful. If you experience sharp or unbearable pain within your practice, ease up and focus on your breath. Listen to your body first!
How long should I hold each pose?
This depends on the style of yoga you’re partaking in.
Vinyasa yoga is very common and practiced heavily in yoga studios worldwide. At xude yoga, we do things a little differently.
Hatha sequences are held for as little as 5 breathes and up to a minute.
In a yin sequence, each posture may be held up to 2-5 minutes. Even though this is the recommended time for each asana, you are in control of the duration of each asana.
Every practice is your practice.
How many times per week should I practice?
As a beginner, 2 days a week is a beautiful starting point.
As you continue to indulge in your practice, you can continue to increase your days and eventually begin practicing 7 days a week.
You don’t have to do asanas in order to practice yoga! Simply meditating, being mindful, and focusing in on your breath is the practice of yoga.
What is the age limit for doing yoga?
Limit? You can practice fresh out of the womb until you are hundreds of years old! Yoga does not discriminate with age.
There may be limitations within your practice with age, but yoga is for everyone!
Adjustments and modifications can be made according to your body and preference.
Is yoga worth the investment?
Yes, yes, and yes!
All forms of energy spent on your practice is an investment towards your health, well-being, and your highest self!
